ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - BETHIA COTTAGE
Bethia Cottage offers support for five individuals who have learning disabilities and physical disabilities; these may be multiple complex disabilities, including an enduring health condition and some behavioural support needs.
Bethia Cottage is a purpose built bungalow situated in the quiet rural community of Preston, Hull which forms part of the Humberside and East Riding coastal route. It is in close proximity to community facilities, parks and recreation areas and easily accessible bus routes. Everyone is encouraged to develop and experience a range of recreational activities and will be supported in doing this. The service has established links with the local community and takes advantage of the facilities available. We aim to ensure that day to day home living is part of everyday life, as well as recreation, education and socialising.
The service has five large, wheelchair accessible bedrooms. All bedrooms have ceiling tracking to make personal care dignified, safe and more comfortable. There are a number of communal rooms, including a lounge, a quiet room, a dining room and an assisted showering facility. These have been carefully designed to meet the needs of people living at the service and incorporate special features such as height adjustable tables and work surfaces. The service also has a special sensory room. These facilities enable people to develop skills and build independence.
There is a garden with lawned areas and raised flowerbeds.
