ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - BANKHOUSE NURSING HOME
Set in the semi-rural village of Hambleton in Lancashire, Bankhouse is an elegant private house. It has been thoughtfully converted to be a welcoming home for elderly residents.
Bankhouse is currently being refurbished which is due for completion early 2013. This will include the conversion of some existing rooms to extend the home by three bedrooms and many areas of the home will be tastefully redecorated with new flooring and furnishings.
The care we offer
We provide a high standard of individual care including elderly nursing care, convalescence, respite and palliative care. The home also offers specialist care for residents with complex nursing needs such dementia.
Bankhouse consists of three separate houses that enable us to provide specialised care based on residents’ individual needs.
Food
The chef at Bankhouse ensures that all residents' tastes and diets are catered for. An interesting range of nutritionally balanced meals are created every day. Residents can choose to eat in one of three dining rooms looking out across the delightful gardens, or in their own room if they wish.
Activities
At Bankhouse our dedicated activity co-ordinator ensures there’s always something enjoyable to do and residents are also encouraged to pursue their own personal interests and any longstanding hobbies. Daily activities include cake-making, painting and quizzes.
Pianists and singers also give performances and there are regular excursions such as coffee mornings in the local village and theatre shows. We often have a visit from Pets as Therapy – a charitable organisation that brings friendly animals into the home to meet residents.
Every month there is a special themed event for residents to look forward. Friends and relatives are also welcome to participate in our activities.
